Member of the ICTU Women's committee
Hi my name is Denise Collins for all of you who don't know me, I am the women's officer for our branch. Ive always had a keen interest in women's rights and in women being treated fairly and equally within our working environment and also within the trade union movement. These are the very reasons why I put myself forward for this role within our branch.
In recent months I have been out to visit with each of our functions within our branch and hopefully met most of you all face to face during this time. What I would like to achieve whilst in this role is to set up a women's committee within our branch so we can all tackle and strategise our concerns and issues not only within our work place but in our lives and communities.
In closing I would like to thank everyone who has supported women's issues and got involved within the last 18 months, and I welcome all our female members to speak up and get involved "unity is strength"
